Tyrand Devell Clinton, 25 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he hit his child’s mother in the face with a closed fist.
The victim suffered visible injuries. The incident occurred at a home on South Avenue last October.
Reports added that the couple’s four year-old child witnessed the incident.
Clinton is charged with battery, cruelty to children in the third degree and parole violation.
