Japhus Lamar Wright Jr, 54 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he was found in possession of drugs at a location on Martha Berry Blvd.
Police said that they found suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking device on Wright.
Officers added that Wright attempted to evade arrest by pulling away from them.
Reports went on to say that Wright attempted to hide the smoking pipe from officers.
Wright is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, obstruction and probation violation.
