A homeless 34 year-old Rome man, Morrie Levon Wells Jr, was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week after reports said he intentionally hit a woman on the hand, resulting in her cellphone being dropped on the head of a small child.
Reports listed the child at 2 days old. The child suffered visible injuries to her forehead.
Wells is charged with simple battery and reckless conduct.
