According to the Georgia State Patrol, 28 year-old Haley Cunningham of Calhoun, was killed in a wreck on I-75 in Gordon County on Wednesday.

Reports said that at approximately 3:50 a.m., a silver Kia Forte driven by Cunningham was traveling north on I-75 Northbound near Mile Marker 318.  She apparently lost control of her vehicle and struck the center median guardrail before coming to a final rest in the center lane of I-75 northbound, with her vehicle disabled and facing a southwest direction.

The Kia was then struck by a tractor-trailer in the center lane, ejecting Cunningham.

The tractor-trailer then traveled off the east edge of the interstate, while overturning. A flatbed tractor-trailer then struck Cunningham in the right travel lane. Cunningham died at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the overturned tractor-trailer were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

I-75 northbound was shut down completely following the crash for approximately two hours and 40 minutes.

The GSP’s investigation is ongoing.
