Cindy Gayle Walton, 46 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she stole mail from the mailboxes of numerous homes around Fouche Gap Road.
Police said that Walton was found with 55 pieces of mail.
Reports added that she told police that she did not get out of her vehicle to commit the thefts.
Walton is charged with five counts theft by possession of stolen mail and theft by taking from a residential mailbox.
A second person, Jessie Donovan Teal, 35 of Rome, was also taken into custody for being a party to the crime.
The couple was arrested at a location on Big Texas Valley Road.
