Craig Aaron Jones, 43 of Cave Spring, was arrested this week after reports said he punched a 17-year-old in the face, side, and back causing redness and visible markings.
A 16-year-old allegedly witnessed the attack and attempted to pull Jones off of the victim.
The incident occurred at a location on Gadsden Road.
Jones is charged with battery, cruelty to children in the first degree, cruelty to children in the second degree and probation violation.
