Armando Mendoza, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said hit his 11 year-old son with a cellphone. Mendoza then proceeded to shove his bother during altercation.
The incident occurred back on January 24th.
Mendoza was found this week at the Alto Park Softball Complex under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.
A search of his vehicle led officers to recover a cigar wrap containing suspected marijuana. While being questioned, officers stated that Mendoza gave them a fake name.
Mendoza is charged with battery, simple battery, cruelty to children in the 1st degree, possession of marijuana, driving without license, DUI and giving false information to police.
