Kayla Diane Jordan, 32 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she spit in the face of police officers following her committing a hit and run while intoxicated.
Reports said that Jordan crossed the center line of Avenue B and struck a car before leaving the scene of the accident.
She was spotted three blocks away, and when officers located her she allegedly threw her cigarette outside the car window before pulling over. While stopped she was found with an open Bud Light.
It was then, police stated that she refused to comply with them as they began to place her under arrest. During a verbal altercation that reportedly saw her offer violence to the officers she proceeded to spit in their faces.
Jordan is charged with DUI, simple battery against a police officer, felony obstruction, willful obstruction, open container, littering, hit and run and improper lane change.
