Richard Dallas Smith Jr, 37 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said police found him in possession of a bag of methamphetamine at the Fairbridge Inn.
Reports added that Smith attempted to escape arrest by running away from officers, but was quickly captured.
Smith is charged with possession of meth and two counts obstruction of law enforcement.
