Mrs. Betty Sue Carter, age 85, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at a local senior living facility.

                Mrs. Carter was born in Cave Spring, Georgia on March 22, 1935, daughter of the late Leo Dodson Ingram and the late Bertha Mae Nichols Ingram.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Glenward Carter, Sr., by a great grandson, and by four siblings.  Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.  She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was a two-time breast cancer survivor who had led the Relay for Life survivor’s lap.

                Survivors include three daughters, Belinda Carter, Rockmart, Jeri Carter, Tacoma, WA, and Melissa Bowman, Rome; a son, Ralph G. Carter, Jr. Centre, AL; six grandchildren, Bill, Crystal, April, Heather, Glenn, and Trey; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

                Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating.  Interment will be held at future date with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery.

                The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 1pm until the service time.  Social distancing measures will be followed, and masks are requested.
