David Michael Day, 57 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly severely beat a 73 year-old man and then proceeded to burglarize his home.
Reports said that Day strangled and eat the victim to the point he suffered a torn esophagus, a fractured jaw and had numerous teeth knocked out.
Officers added that Day then proceeded to steal the victim’s cellphone.
The incident occurred back on December 3 at a location on Briarwood at Charlton Streets.
Day is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, aggravated battery and exploitation of elderly or disabled.
