A 17 year-old Rome teen, Keshaun Bernard Lamar Turner, was arrested this week after police said they found him in possession of a gun.
Reports said that Turner, a passenger in a vehicle, was searched due to the odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. A Glock .380 handgun was recovered from the vehicle during the search and Turner denied ownership.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, leaving Turner behind.
Turner is charged with possession of a handgun by a person under the age of 18.
