According to reports, a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office vehicle collided with a CSX train late Monday evening.
Deputy Nathaniel Lehmann of the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office was responding to a non-emergency call and was stopped at a stop sign on Abby Lane, at the railroad crossing. After stopping, Deputy Lehmann attempted to cross the railroad crossing and was struck by the train.
Lehmann stated that he did not notice the train until he was already on the tracks.
There were no crossing arms or lights at this railroad crossing.
Deputy Lehmann was transported to Floyd Medical with non-life-threatening injuries.
