According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, Jacob Clifford Scarborough (18) of Hartwell, Georgia has been arrested and charged with Cruelty to Children in the first degree (Felony), Harassing Phone Calls; other form of electronic communication (Misd), and Terroristic Threats (Misd) following an investigation into an incident which occurred on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, reported to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office.
At the time of the incident, Bartow County Campus Police Department and the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office were investigating an incident which occurred at Cass High School on Monday, August 24, 2020, which stemmed from the current political environment in the U.S. Several
students were expelled from the school for a period of time as a result of the altercation.
Scarborough who has no known ties to the Bartow County School System or any of the student(s) within the Bartow County School System sent several messages directly to one of the juvenile victim through Snap Chat and Instagram social media platforms threatening to cause
harm to the juvenile upon her returning to school, harming African Americans, and other derogatory racial slurs.
Scarborough was taken into custody by authorities in Hart County on 08/31/2020 and he is currently in the Hart County Jail where he awaits to be transported to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center.
