Kevin Joseph Degraft 37 of Rome, who is an inmate at the Floyd County Jail, is facing additional charges after reports said he was found with a shank.

Reports stated that a white piece of plastic was recovered in his pants. Officers said that the plastic had been sharpened so that it could be used as a weapon.

Reports went on to state that while being handcuffed he threatened to kill a deputy after he got out of jail.

Degraft is now charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by an inmate and terroristic threats.

Kevin Joseph Degraft, 37 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to start a fight with a 32 year-old man by using abusive words before throwing a bottle of water at his groin.

Police added that when they arrived Degraft attempted to obstruct them of doing their duties.

The incident occurred at a location on Reece Street.

Degraft is charged with battery, disorderly conduct, obstruction and terroristic threats and acts.
