Robert Louis Benson Jr, 28 of Cartersville, was booked into the Floyd County Jail this week after reports said he was found in illegally in possession of a firearm.
Police stated that he was found with a Ruger LCP .380 handgun at the intersection of Highway 411 and Chulio Road.
After arriving at the Floyd County Jail he was found in possession of a firearm while inside the facility.
Benson is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm while committing a felony and crossing the guard line with a weapon.
