A 77-year old Rome man, Luis Canela Hernandez, has died as the result of a two vehicle accident that occurred last Thursday on the bypass near Rome High School.
According to police, Hernandez was driving a Dodge Caliber eastbound when he crossed the median and struck a Lexus SUV head-on.
The driver of the Lexus was also transported to the hospital with injuries.
