Gary Fricks, 53 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he attempted to murder a man at a location on North Elm Street.
Reports said that Fricks grabbed the victim by the throat, leaving marks, while placing the victim in fear of death.
Fricks is charged with aggravated assault.
