Michael Lee Ingle, 34 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he allegedly hit a woman in the back of her head with a closed fist multiple times.
Reports said that the altercation occurred in front of his child and numerous other witnesses.
The incident occurred on Old Freeman Ferry Road.
Ingle is charged with battery and cruelty to children.
