A 29 year-old Rome man, Derricus Jamar Wade,  wanted for a shooting last month has been captured.

Wade is charged with two counts posession or distribution of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a gun during the commisison of a felony, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, parole violation and aggravated assault.


On Sunday January 6 at about 12:45pm Rome police responded to a reported shooting at 131 Dodd Blvd. On arrival officers found Dakota Alan Malone shot twice in the back. Malone was transported to a local hospital for the injuries. He is being treated at the time of this release.

The investigation led to warrants being issued for Derricus Jamar Wade charging him with Aggravated Assault in reference to the shooting of Dakota Allen Malone.
