James Mason, 44, of Rome was arrested this week when he hit a woman with a metal pole and took her phone.
According to police, during an argument, Mason hit the 30-year-old victim and took her phone. During the same altercation, Mason used a metal pole to hit the victim. As a result, she had redness and swelling on the left side of her head and eye.
Mason is charged with felony aggravated assault, battery, and theft by taking.
