A Calhoun man, identified as Christopher Steven Ray, 34, is being sought after he was named as the suspect in an attack on a police officer.

Reports said that the police officer stopped a Jeep Cherokee in front of an apartment complex on Red Bud Road because of  a borken brake light.

The driver, Ray, put the vehicle in reverse and proceeded to strike the patrol car. He then allegedly put theJeep into drive and spun the tires.

He then pointed the vehicle at the officer as he left the scene.

The officer had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck.

The vehicle was later found abandoned, but still running, near the parking lot of Internal Family Medicine with a missing wheel.

Ray is wanted for aggravated assault on a police officer, fleeing or attempting to elude, and reckless conduct.
