Trevon Lee Cornell, 18 of Rome, was jailed this week after he was found with a stolen Ruger 44 handgun, along with numerous allegedly stolen parts of other guns.

Reports said that police were called to the machinery shop at 528 ½ Fifth Ave. after someone broke into the building and stole three guns, some gun parts, machinery and tools. Officers said that while investigating the scene they saw shoe prints and fingerprints.

The officer said that he followed the footprints to Lee’s address, where he knocked on the door.  He added that after being invited in he saw some of the stolen items in plain sight.

Cornell is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property.
