Anthony Dean Burge Sr, 55 of Rome, was jailed this week after he was caught allegedly shoplifting at the BP on Shorter Avenue.
Reports said that after leaving the store he was found down the road near Walgreens.
A search of Burge led police to allegedly find a meth pipe containing the drug.
Burge is charged with theft by shoplifting, possession of meth and possession of drug related objects.
