A Tallapoosa Circuit Superior Court Judge sentenced former Polk County dentist Gerald Palatini Jr, 60, to 15 years of probation and a $10,000 fine after pleading guilty to sexual exploitation of a child this week ending a decade long saga.
The district attorney’s office had recommended a 20 year prison sentenced and a $10,000 fine.
The court said that they took into consideration the loss of Palatini’s business and license to practice dentistry as part of his reason for keeping the fine low.
He must also register as a sex offender.
His arrest came in 2009 and he was indicted in 2011. However, a motion to dismiss the case went before the Georgia Court of Appeals before the plea finally was reached this week.
