Richard Clifford Edwards Jr., 26 of Lindale, was arrested on Monday after reports said he beat a man in the head during an altercation on Reservoir Street last weekend.
Reports stated that Edwards hit the victim in the head with a gun before making him get on his knees and beg for his life.
The victim stated that Edwards fired a shot in close proximity to him.
Edwards is charged with aggravated assault.
