Philemon Marcus Bowles, 29 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports staid he assaulted a woman.
The victim told police that he hit her and then drug her by her ankle.
Police reported that when they arrived on scene Bowles attempted to avoid commands of officers by hiding under a bed in an effort to avoid arrest.
Bowles is charged with simple assault, obstruction of police and probation violation.
