Winsdale Sherrell Strickland, 41 of Rome, was arrested Sunday night after he tried to avoid a traffic stop on Broad Street.  Reports stated that officers were attempting to pull him over for driving without headlights when he continued to drive, refusing to stop.

Police said that he then turned down a one way street with his lights off in an attempt to elude them.

After being captured it was discovered that Strickland was wanted on a probation violation for credit card fraud.

Strickland is charged with obstruction of law enforcement, driving on a suspended license, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, failure to yield to emergency vehicles and a headlight violation.
