The driver of a Ford Ranger, Michael Cordle, 35 of Rome, was sent to a local hospital after their car stuck a home at 4109 Blacks Bluff Road in southern Floyd County. He is charged with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

According to reports, the vehicle left the road, jumped  a ditch and flipped before crashing into the home.

Cordle had to be extracted by emergency responders.  He was listed in stable condition on Monday at Floyd Medical Center with a broken collar bone and fractured vertebra.

No one was injured inside the home.
