The Floyd County Police officer who was lifeflighted to Emory Hospital in Atlanta on Thursday is improving by the day according to other officers.  Reports stated that on Sunday, Floyd County police Pfc. Brandon Broome had been moved to a regular room, was alert, conscious and responsive.

The Coosa Valley Fraternal Order of Police is helping local law enforcement and Rome Athletic Club raise money for the family of an  Prc. Broome.
The fundraiser will be in effect for the month of October, however proceeds from the first week will be delivered immediately to the family to help defer any costs of their stay in Atlanta.
“Brandon’s family shouldn’t have to worry about finding spare change to buy fuel and crackers to survive while they’re staying at his bedside,” said Chris Fincher, president of the Coosa Valley FOP, “especially not at a time like this.”
Members of the Floyd County Police Department, City of Rome Police and Floyd County Sheriff’s Office have come together to raise money under the management of the local chapter of FOP Lodge 14.
