Rome Police said that two people were killed in a wreck on U.S 27 at Walker Mountain on Friday.  According to Lt. Chris DeHart, Michah Evans, 41 of Cedartown, was driving north in a large flatbed truck. As he reached the intersection of Walker Mountain Road a Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by Troy Pitts, 46 of Alberville, Alabama, crossed into Evans lane.
Police said that Pitts and his wife Christina Hernandez, 41, both were declared dead at the scene.
Evans was treated and released from a local hospital.
DeHart said that a third vehicle caused the Hyundai to make the move into Evan’s lane to attempt to prevent a wreck
The third car did not stop and police is asking for anyone with information about the third vehicle and its driver to contact them at 706.238.5137
