Devon Lamar Harris, 28 of Terrell, Texas, was arrested by Rome Police this week for allegedly going after a gun while being questioned.  Reports stated that police noticed Harris sitting in his car on Hardy Avenue, in what appeared to be a hiding manor.  Police said that Harris became argumentative when they started questioning him, so they asked him to step of the vehicle.

Reports went on to say that as Harris stepped out of the car an officer spotted what appeared to be a silver pistol in the door.  After telling the officers that the gun was not real Harris reached for the weapon defying the officer’s commands to stop.

Police stated that at that point they grabbed Harris and forced him to the back of the car and placed him under arrest. It was then the officers discovered that the weapon was a pellet gun.

A search of the vehicle under covered crack cocaine and marijuana.

Harris is charged with three counts of possession manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, possession of cocaine, aggravated assault on an officer, wilful obstruction of law enforcement.
