Michael James Martin, 36 of Jamesburg, New Jersey, was arrested at the Royal Inn in Rome Monday after reports said he hit a female in the face repeatedly and stole her purse.
Reports went on to state that after taking her purse he fled on foot. He was captured less than an hour later.
Martin is charged with robbery (forcible purse snatching), battery, and a parole violation.
