Floyd County police responded to a possible shooting over the weekend, and as a result arrested Calvin Lamar Dorsey, 55 of Rome.
Reports stated that 911 received several calls stating that someone had been shot and was lying in a ditch. When officer arrived the suspected victim told police that he had not been shot and that he had jumped in a ditch after Dorsey pulled a gun on him and fired two shots.
A witness stated that he saw two shots being fired at the victim because he saw a “muzzle flash with each shot”.
Reports added that investigators discovered that the suspect had been drinking prior to the incident.
A search of Dorsey’s home uncovered 14 9mm cartridges and a 22 long rifle cartridge on top of the suspect’s bedroom dresser.
Dorsey is charged with reckless conduct, discharge of a firearm near a public street, discharging a firearm under in influence of alcohol, disorderly conduct, reckless conduct and public drunk.
