Rome police arrested Paul Edward Averett, 43 of Mentone, Alabama, this week at the Cottis Inn on Martha Berry Highway after he was accused of pushing an choking a victim. Reports stated that an altercation on Monday resulted in Averett using foul language before pushing the victim in an attempt to provoke him,
Averett is charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor battery and two counts of disorderly conduct.
