Rome police arrested Jasper Jermaine Brewster III, 21 of Rome, after he was found to have drugs on him near a housing project at Cedar Avenue and East 13th Street.
Reports said that the officer pulled over a vehicle after noticing that the passenger was not wearing a seat belt. While speaking with Brewster and other occupants, the officer said they noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside. The officer was notified that there was an active warrant for Brewster’s arrest in Cedartown.
While questioning Brewster, a search turned up over an ounce of marijuana and cocaine in plastic baggies.
He was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance near a housing project, possession of cocaine, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
