Harold Chase Anderson, 20 of Silver Creek, was arrested this week after he allegedly choked a woman while dragging her beside his vehicle earlier this month. Reports stated that he told the victim he was going to kill her as he held her in a choke hold while she was hanging out of his vehicle that was moving. Police said that the victim showed dark red marks around her neck, along with cuts on her arms and elbows.
A witness told police that he saw the victim being dragged outside the car before being let go and thrown down face first onto the pavement.
The incident occurred in front of a two year old child.
A Floyd County Police Officer later spotted Anderson, who had left the scene, on Turner Chapel Road Tuesday. The officer said that he pulled Anderson over for allegedly driving his vehicle with back covers on his taillights. A search of the car uncovered several baggies of suspected methamphamine (81 grams), two digital scales and a smoking pipe with suspected drug residue.
Anderson is charged with aggravated assault, battery, cruelty to children, possession of drug related objects, and possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to distribute, trafficking meth and tail light requirements.
