Alisha Suzanne McCullough, 40 of Rome, was arrested on Wednesday after police said she stole several items from a rental unit and then wrote fake checks. Reports said that the alleged incidents occurred in December and January.
They added that on December 19, McCullough wrote $1,001 worth of checks, knowing there was not enough funds to cover them, and cashed them at United Community Bank.
Then on January 5, while being evicted from a home on Old Dalton Road she took several household items from the rental property. The items were valued at over $1,500.
McCullough is charged with felony theft by taking and two counts of misdemeanor theft by deception.
