An agreement between the Rome City Commission and Rome City Schools has been approved for the school system to take over operations of Barron Stadium, Legion Field and the Throws Center. Under the agreement, Rome City Schools would cover all small repairs and maintenance items of $5,000 or less. Any amount over that would come from the city`s capital maintenance fund. Instead of a rental payment, which the school system has paid in the past, Rome City Schools would deposit $7,000 annually into the capital maintenance fund.

The school system will also be responsible for maintaining day to day operations such as scheduling events.

The agreement officially takes effect on July 1.
