Floyd County Police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery of Shannon`s McGowan Jones Pharmacy. Reports said that Michael Edward Jones, 35 of Rome, was arrested on Tuesday following Monday`s robbery. Reports said that Jones did not take any cash, but did allegedly leave with over $800 in prescription medication. He is charged with armed robbery.

According to police, a suspect described as a tall, heavyset white male robbed McGowan Jones Pharmacy in Shannon around 4 pm Monday. Reports said that the suspect fled with no cash, but with prescription medication. Reports said that he was wearing a black hoodie and baggy black pants.
Investigators said that the man walked in, flashed the gun, and asked for `prescription pills`.
Reports added that he left in a beige Chrysler 300 and traveled toward the Shannon Village.
