Polk County has named Cody Sorrells of the Public Works Department its November Employee of the Month, recognizing his hard work and contributions to county infrastructure projects.
Sorrells was a key member of the crew responsible for completing the county’s 2026 Repaving Program, which restored more than 21 miles of roadway across 12 county roads.
Assistant County Manager Connor Hooper said the work on the repaving project is just the latest example of Sorrells’ dedication and versatility within the department.
“Cody is a hard worker who I’ve had the privilege of knowing for around five years,” Hooper said. “Since working with the county, Cody has been cross-trained in various different positions in Public Works, so he can be of assistance to his department at any time.”
Sorrells received the recognition during the Polk County Board of Commissioners’ monthly meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The county recognized Sorrells for his continued commitment to serving the community and helping ensure local roads remain in optimal condition.
