Jonathan Andrew Barkley, 52 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he severely beat a 60 year-old woman at a home on Leafmore Road.
Reports stated that Barkley picked up the woman over his shoulder and then threw her down on the ground during an argument. The victim reportedly received two visible lacerations to her left arm as the result of this act. Barkley then allegdlly grabbed the victim by the hair and pulle it.
Barkley is then accused of using his hands to wrap around her neck in an attempt to choke her.
Barkey is then accused of telling the woman that he was going to cut her throat after grabbing a pocket knife out of his pocket and attempted to cut her.
Barkley is charged with two counts aggravated assault, simple battery, battery, terroristic threats and acts.
