Austin Dwight Gilstrap, 31 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he bit and choked a 32 year-old man.
Reports said that Gilstrap choked the victim to the point he could no longer breathe. He then reportedly bit the victim on his back near the right shoulder blade. Police went on to say that Gilstrap proceeded to punch the victim on the head and face at least four times.
The incident occurred at a home on Chief Vann Drive.
Gilstrap is charged with aggravated assault and battery.
