Terry Dwayne Burgess, 59 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he provided police with an identity of another as his own during a traffic stop at the intersection of Garden Lakes Blvd and Elliott Drive.
Police said that Burgess provided law enforcement with another person’s identifying information as his, including the victim’s name and date of birth, without their knowledge. Burgess then signed a legal court document representing himself as the victim.
Burgess is charged with two counts 1st degree forgery, false statements and writings, failure to obey traffic control devices, giving false information to police, identity theft fraud and driving on suspended license.
