Centre Mayor Jay Howell has received the Advanced Certified Municipal Official Award from the Alabama League of Municipalities (ALM), recognizing his commitment to professional development and public service.
The designation was awarded in Mobile, Alabama, and required Howell to first earn the Basic Certified Municipal Official designation before completing an additional 40 credit hours of approved training through the League.
According to the City of Centre, the achievement reflects Howell’s dedication to continuing education and strengthening his knowledge of municipal government.
City officials praised the mayor’s commitment to serving the community and working to make Centre a better place to live, work and visit.
The Alabama League of Municipalities provides training opportunities for local government officials to help them develop the knowledge and skills needed to effectively serve their communities.
