Students at Cedartown High School got an up-close look at careers in public safety during the 2026 Polk County College and Career Academy Career Fair.

Representatives from several Polk County departments, including E-911, Fire-Rescue, the Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office, participated in the event to introduce students to potential career opportunities in their community.

Department personnel answered questions, shared firsthand experiences and discussed what students can expect when pursuing careers in public safety. The interactions gave students an opportunity to learn more about the responsibilities, training and skills associated with these professions.

The career fair was designed to help students explore possible career paths while connecting them with professionals who work in the fields they may one day enter.

By bringing students and local public safety personnel together, the event provided a practical look at career opportunities available throughout Polk County and encouraged students to consider the possibilities for their futures.
