Sydney Barton “Bart” Kinne, IV, age 51, of Rome, GA, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at his residence.

Bart was born in Rome, GA, on August 1, 1975, son of the late Dr. Sydney Barton Kinne, III, and the late Valeria Earnestine “Tina” Jones Kinne. He was a graduate of Rome High School and went on to earn his BBA from Shorter College. Bart owned and operated Floyd Bowling and Amusement and Classic Lanes Bowling Alley’s in Rome. He also owned Jefferson’s Restaurants in Rome and Calhoun. Bart was a member of the USBC and a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church.

Hard working, servant, gracious, humble, loving. These are just a few words that describe the legacy Bart Kinne has left on Northwest Georgia. Special emphasis on the first word, Bart lived to work. He truly loved what he did, and it showed as he made sure he was at the alley, rain, sleet or shine. Bart loved helping others. He befriended and adopted so many people that needed help, more than anyone would ever be aware of. Bart would give the shirt off of his back and not tell a soul. He wanted to give and help but wanted no recognition or praise. While he did love counting his money, Bart was the type of guy that would never let anyone know how much he had, earning every single penny from the hard work he put forth. Loving, the last word, was perhaps his most lasting legacy. It may not have been a loud or touchy-feely kind of love, but Bart loved deeply. This is evident by the help he extended, the love he showed his family, and the care that he provided not only to his blood relatives, but to all of those he adopted as his own.

Survivors include his two sisters, Cindi Kinne and Kathy Ware (Mike), both of Rome; nieces and nephews, Brett Kinne (Britney Bailey), Jessica Dempsey (Drew), Kaitlyn Collins (Zach), and Hunter Dowdy; great niece and nephews, Reese Dempsey, Joshua Collins, and Beckham Collins; his former brother-in-law, Joe Dowdy; countless other people Bart took in and loved just like family.
