Latonia Sherlette King, 51 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said she failed to provide an education for her child.
Reports said that King’s daughter missed 6 unexcused days of school.
Police said that King had been notified of prior truancy issues with the child and signed a truancy contract last September.
King is charged with the mandatory education of children and failure to appear.
