Mrs. Bobbie Graves Culpepper Shedd, age 94, of Rome

Mrs. Bobbie Graves Culpepper Shedd, age 94, of Rome, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Shedd was born in Rome, Georgia on April 19, 1932, daughter of the late Rev. Y.E. Graves and the late Alice Yarbrough Graves. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Early Ray Culpepper and Herbert Shedd, by three sons, Ricky Culpepper, Tim Culpepper, and David Culpepper; a brother, Bill Graves; and a sister-in-law, Sara Graves. Mrs. Shedd worked for several years at Pet Bakery. She was a long-time member of Calhoun Avenue Baptist Church and had attended Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She always made it a point to get to know everyone she came in contact with and never spoke ill words about anyone.

Survivors include a son, Steve Culpepper; three grandchildren, Rhett Culpepper, Adam Culpepper (Holly), and Alexa Deal (Ryan); several great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Graves and Jerry Graves (Linda); a sister-in-law, Sylvia Graves; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 11am at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Rev. Chuck Graves and Rev. Ricky Studdard will officiate.
