A convicted felon, Desiree Starla Dean, 46 of Trion, was arrested in Rome this week after reports said she was found in possession of a firearm.
Police said that Dean was a passenger in a vehicle that was being stopped for a broken brake light when officers discovered an active warrant for her arrest. Officers said that while taking her into custody they located a pistol holder. A search of the vehicle then resulted in them locating a pistol that fit the holder.
Dean is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts probation violation.
